LED floodlights for a football stadium, simulated first
Sports lighting is not a wattage catalog. The buyer needed lux, glare control and a factory that would aim the fixtures.
The problem
Event organizers needed LED floodlights for a football stadium on a short timeline. The first quotes they saw were generic high-bay “stadium lights”: wattage and lumens, no IES file, no lux layout, no glare (GR) check for players and cameras, unclear IP65 / surge ratings. Buying on wattage alone is how venues end up with hot spots, spill light and fixtures that cannot be aimed.
What we did
We shortlisted three LED lighting factories that actually do sports floodlights, not warehouse high-bays. Because we buy LED regularly, two of them ran a free lighting simulation (lux on the pitch, beam angle, glare) against the stadium dimensions. The client compared those layouts, picked one, and ordered. After production we inspected beam and IP hardware, arranged freight, and stayed on for installation support so aiming matched the drawing.
Result
Fixtures landed with a layout the venue had already signed off. Inspection and delivery were handled in one chain, plus after-sales help on install. The client was satisfied with the purchase.
